SCOOP/STACK: High-Flying Duo Checks All Boxes
At measured depths (MD) of roughly 22,000 ft or more, horizontal SCOOP wells largely target the Springer, an overpressured shale and sandstone conglomerate, or the underlying Woodford. Between the sloughing Springer shale and the fragile sandstones of the Red Fork formation, which overlay the Woodford, operators in the SCOOP and, to a lesser degree, the STACK, have to confront often severe loss circulation issues.
